Endoscopic Ultrasound / Fine Needle Puncture
What is meant by endoscopic ultrasound / fine needle aspiration?
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is a combination of endoscopy and sonography. With fine needle puncture, it is possible to obtain tissue from structures that are not accessible with other biopsy methods or only accessible with great invasiveness and the associated higher risk.
The primary field of application is the cytopathological diagnosis of tissue growth in the digestive system and the surrounding lymph nodes.
