ERCP

If the biliary or pancreatic ducts are to be examined, an Endoscopic Cholangio-Pancreatography retrograde, so called ERCP, is used. This is performed through local administration of contrast media and under fluoroscopy using X-rays.

As part of an ERCP, biopsy material can be obtained, stents implanted, drainages placed or stones extracted.
